Hey! I am back online and productive

  • Not been too good for some time and then crashed my computer, lost photos  - a warning to everyone who thinks it wont ever happen to them. And of course a little matter of a devastating earthquake for us in the Lorca area.

New computer with Windows 7 takes a bit of getting used to especially when it is a spanish keyboard.  All that aside, I have used my time to re-engage with the photo world

  •   photorush -  http://www.photorush.com  and
  •  PCN, my Life. susieB.see.me has a portfolio of 20 photos about to be judged.
  •  I also have a little sony video cam which comes out now and then
  • I am still painting but usually watercolours which I can do swiftly and consequently enjoy.
  • I finally succumbed to Facebook and I can be found here - http://www.facebook.com/susan.bearder

Visits to other countries namely Austria, Vienna in particular and Switzerland all over produced superb photographic opportunities for me.

However I still probably get the greatest thrill to catch nature as it is.

Dont forget that I write

.. about Alicante and Murcia - and here is the book cover.....
.

and reverse cover...
The book is available through Amazon and all good bookshops.

And here is the link
http://http//www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_ss_b?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=Going+Native+in+Alicante&x=13&y=20

Well that's the advert over... here are a couple of photos that were prepared for the book which could not be produced in colour....

The salt pans near Santa Pola at dawn, with avocets

A corner in Villajojosa

The charming Placa in Alcoy

.....and a little taster of the bird life that is so easy to observe
where Alicante of the south meets Murcia

Strange bedfellows

Murcia, Photographic competition "Litoral y Puertos"

I have actually submitted three photographs to the region of Murcia photographic competition - subject "Coasts and Ports of Murcia". My expectations are very low but I am pleased that I submitted as a foreigner or "guiri".
I will post them in a week or so after judging is over.
